It was a bright and sunny day in the little town lykkelig. The folks, young and old, were busy keeping up to their daily routine.A few woodcutters were just unloading their logs from the caravan.Women were doing the laundry.

A young girl in her teens walked out of the small cottage. She was singing happily, carrying a basket filled with bread and fruits. She had long brown hair hidden under a white headdress. She wore a simple dress of white and black, with a green apron and a red vest. Her eyes were jade green that sparkled when the morning light touched it.
Her name was Veldedighet Dans. She was 15 and she was the daughter of a young couple that died many years ago.Her grandparents,Bestefar Rask and Bestemor Sjarm, were the ones who took care of her now.She was a lovely child, and had skin like ivory. She also had the beauty that could make any man fall for her.

She was fair, polite, and kind. She respected her elders and was a role model to children. She was good and pure.

Today, she was planning on taking a picnic outside the village,at a very beautiful lake called Sogsvann.People liked going there to take a bath and other things.
It was one of the many reasons why Veldedighet wanted to go there. Her village was just near it and she wanted to see the lake itself.

She was a provincial girl, which made it hard for her to travel. She did find a caravan that made its way on a route near Sogsvann,so she hopped on and went with the flow.
After that long ride, she walked down fields and slopes. Her shoes weren't dirty, thank God.It was spring, and the snow had already melted,so it was easy for her to move.
She finally found Sogsvann, and was thrilled by its natural beauty. The water sparkled under the sun.

Veldedighet saw that no one was in the area of the lake yet.Which meant she was alone in this place. But she didn't mind.At least she could have the lake all to herself.
She found a nice spot near the lake,by a boulder facing the view of Sogsvann, with thick trees behind it.She spread the mat on the ground and got out all her snacks. She removed her shoes and set them aside.
As she watched the lake and its horizon, she nibbled on a loaf of bread, eating absentmindedly.

She was bored.Maybe....should she take a swim on the lake?No one was around, anyway.Maybe luck is on her side today if no one came along seeing her naked while swimming.
Before she could make up her mind, she heard a sound.
More specifically.....music.As if it came from a violin. That's strange....
Veldedighet frowned.

Where did that come from. She was sure there was no one around.....
The music became louder, ringing in her ears softly like a kiss.It seemed to be coming from the woods.
Veldedighet stood up,got on her shoes, and went into the forest. It was dark and scary, but she was already used to the shades and shadows that lurked here.It was normal.Norway was magical in its own way,so there's a chance that even the shadows are magical too.
She often heard stories from her grandparents about magical creatures appearing to them in their childhood.Of course,it seemed so ridiculous to believe.Really?Women that lured men to their caves to marry them?Tiny elves that cleaned your house if you offered them something in return?

Gibberish.
Those things don't exist.
The music was getting louder...and nearer.

She finally came around a large pond surrounded by boulders and tall trees. When she looked down on it,her face met a murky green-blue shade of water that reflected her face. She couldn't see the bottom of the pond at all, because it was too dark.
She noticed that there many water lilies in the pond. Some in normal color, and some in red.
They're beautiful.

She was startled by the unearthly music that rang in her ears.
Her immediate reaction was to look over across the other side of the pond to know who made it.Her eyes caught something in the middle.
It was a figure....With long brown hair that reached its thighs and a weird skin color that reminded you of greenish soul. Its clothes consisted of some traditional Norwegian clothing for boys.A single water lily adorned its head.Based on its physique...it was a man.
And he was holding....a violin.

'So that's where the music came from!' Veldedighet thought.'The man was playing it!'
But how did the music reach her, when he was so far away?
Strange.
Veldedighet was starting to have a sudden suspicion that he wasn't normal.

Suddenly,the man turned to her.
Veldedighet almost screamed in terror.
His eyes....oh lord..His eyes were glowing green!

He studied her carefully, his expression being confused and surprised,as if he never expected her to see him.His eyebrows were scrunched up,which made him cute.
Aside from the weird glowing eyes and the odd skin color,he was handsome, probably about 18 or so.Despite his long hair,he still somehow managed to look manly.

Veldedighet stared back at him,not daring to move.
The man relaxed a bit,and she swore she saw a small smile forming on his lips.
He began to play his violin, this time,in a different tune.It was more melodic and beautiful than the first one.

Veldedighet was tempted to walk towards him.Her body felt like gelato and her legs couldn't move properly. As the music become more and more alluring, she was dying to go to him so she could see him better, but for some reason, her mind willed her body to stay put, saying it was dangerous.
She didn't understand.
The man was so handsome and gentle. How can that be dangerous?

She couldn't take it.
Veldedighet took a step, then another, then another one, until she was finally walking towards him.
'NOOOOO!!!' Her mind shouted.'STOP!IT'S A TRAP!!HE'S TRYING TO LURE YOU!!!'
She ignored her consciousness and continued walking.
As she moved, the man walked closer to her as well.He kept playing the violin as he went to her calmly. Her was smiling slightly, clearly enjoying something.
'Who is he?' Veldedighet thought.'I need to know.I must come closer to him.I must know him.'

They were facing each other now.The man was taller than her,so she was the same height as his shoulder.
He stared down at her, still playing the violin.
She stared back, entranced by his beauty.
"W..Wh...." She couldn't seem to form her words.
What was going on?

The man smiled.
He stopped playing his violin and placed a hand on the side of her face, stroking it gently. His skin felt wet.....
"You shouldn't have found me," He whispered."Now you can't leave this place without pleasing me."
She was confused. What was he talking about?

Before Veldedighet could ask,or even move,or even realize the danger of her actions, the man grabbed her with a tight embrace and dragged her into the pond.
She felt the water splash her body with a cold feeling.
All her eyes could see was the dark, murky depths of the pond and that small ball of sunlight from the surface.Bubbles floated from her mouth.

She tried to struggle, but the man was still holding her.
They sank together on the floor of the water. Her vision was blurry,so she couldn't see the man's face properly.
She suddenly felt tired, and her eyes started to close. She was losing air,too.....
She felt a pair of soft lips on hers as her vision turned black.
And Veldedighet Dans was gone.
Here's my first short story about fictional beings.
This story is about the Nøkken,a water spirit that lurks in the lakes and rivers of Norway(?).
For more information about them: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neck_(wa…
I'm actually happy to make these story.I made this like,in the middle of the night up until 3:00 in the morning. So it's hard work for me because I read several entries about it(well mostly from the Wikipedia because I depend on it so much).
Also,I know the water spirit isn't exactly a native to Norway,as it appears in Scandinavian mythology like the Viking Gods.I'll just make it clear, though: If I miss out any information or anything like that, just tell me.NICELY.What?You thought I'd accept a criticism with a string of profanity and yelling?Don't think so,sweetheart.I'm no softy, but I want RESPECT and courtesy in my comments section.Yes,even in my artworks. There's no reason to freak out, because freaking is FUCKING annoying.
Okay? We're clear?Good.Anymore problems, and you can say it to the turtles.Or the Tanod,if you even know what it means.
Anyway,as for the picture there,that's just a
Nøkken I made using this: www.dolldivine.com/nokken-make…
The creator of the game has a DA account as well,so if you're not such a lazy ass,you can search them up.
Credits to the owner for allowing me to create a handsome water spirit.XDXDXD
As for our heroine Veldedighet Dans....
Well...I used Google Translate for her names...D:

Veldedighet - Charity
Dans - Dance

Because Veldedighet is a charitable person who loves to dance and sing.Though I didn't name her Sing.XD
So anyways, since I used translator,it can roughly mean anything at all.
So if there's any Norwegian person out there who can give me some help with their language,I might need ya.CAUSE I'M NEW TO SCANDINAVIAN MYTHS,MOTHERFUCKER.
This story is also a part of a big one in my Blue Star Series.Because Dovelyn Snakefrost is friends with a Norwegian guy who tells her that Veldedighet was missing and shit.
Any more questions?Comment below and ask me anything! As long as it makes sense.....
Paalam po!
Bye bye,motherfuckers!
XDXD
